Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) forming now

As you know, preparing for an emergency is perhaps the most important step you can take in actually surviving a disaster. The City of San Diego is offering a FREE training program for their Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program. This program is run by the San Diego Fire Department, and is an excellent program. Several members of the Stoney Gate gang are current CERT members (including yours truly), and it is an incredibly rewarding and interesting experience for anyone who wants to improve their disaster preparedness. The time commitment is minimal (just once a week for six weeks), but you learn so much about how to personally prepare for a disaster, as well as what you can do to help your local community neighborhood and potentially augment the local disaster response efforts.

Please feel free to email me if you want more information or have questions about the program. Full information is posted below, along with links to where you can sign up. This is a very popular program and it only comes once a year, so if you are thinking about it, I’d highly recommend that you sign up soon. Don’t miss out! This is a first-class program that you will really enjoy. I would love to see Carmel Mountain Ranch, and Fairway Village in particular, really show up with a strong CERT presence in San Diego.

The more CERT members we can have in Fairway Village, the better our little spot of the county will do in the event of an emergency.
